Why Page Aloud

Most document readers either render a static page or read the entire file with no structure. Page Aloud reconstructs paragraphs and sentences first, then reads them like a human would. That makes it good for studying textbooks in PDF, listening to Word documents on a commute, finishing a novel from an EPUB, or accessibility use cases where listening beats reading on a screen.

Supported file formats

• PDF. Parsed with Mozilla PDF.js. Includes smart header and footer removal and table-of-contents extraction from headings.
• DOCX (Word). Parsed with mammoth.js. Headings and paragraphs are preserved.
• EPUB. Parsed with epub.js. Chapters are stitched together and broken into reader-friendly pages.
• TXT. Plain text with blank-line paragraph detection.
• Legacy .doc is not supported in the browser. Open the file in Word or Google Docs and save as .docx first.
